Kia ora,
I’m Shakilah — daughter, business partner, and the next generation behind MADD Beauty.
I’ve always been a bit of a girlie girl — keeping up with the latest trends, loving all things beauty, makeup, and that feeling of confidence that comes with looking and feeling your best. From a young age, I’ve always been drawn to the beauty industry, and turning that passion into a career felt like a natural step for me.
My main passion is nails. I’ve always been a creative person, and nails give me the perfect space to express that — from simple, clean sets to more detailed, artistic designs. It’s something I genuinely love, and being able to create for others makes it even more rewarding.
I’ve recently achieved my Certificate in Beauty Therapy Level 4 and Beauty Therapy Diploma, after going straight from high school into studying beauty. This reflects the passion, drive, and dedication I’ve always had for building a future within the industry.
During my studies, I also discovered a strong passion for massage. I’m drawn to the therapeutic side of it—being able to help clients fully relax, unwind, and take a moment for themselves is something I find incredibly rewarding. Creating a calm, comforting experience for others is just as important to me as the results themselves.
I’m always looking to grow, continue learning, and bring fresh ideas and trends into the studio to give our clients the best experience possible.”
Growing up, I’ve had a front row seat to my mum’s journey — watching her hustle, build, and create something from nothing. That’s what inspired me to be part of MADD Beauty and continue building something special together.
Everyone always says they could never work with their mum… but we’re lucky. We have an amazing relationship and an even stronger bond — not just as business partners, but she's also my best friend!
Together, we’ve created more than just a studio — we’ve created a space where creativity, confidence, and connection all come together.

Kia ora,
I’m Jordy — a proud māmā, business owner, and the heart behind MADD Beauty.
My journey hasn’t been the easy road, but it’s been one built on resilience, growth, and determination. As a mum to three incredible children and a bonus child, I’ve spent years juggling motherhood, managing other people’s businesses, and quietly building my own skills — tattooing friends and whānau for over a decade while holding onto a bigger vision.
I’ve always been fiercely independent (to the point it drives my partner a little mad 😅), a bit OCD when it comes to my work, and definitely a little outside the box. I’ve never been one to fit the “normal” mould — I’ve always been creative, hands-on, and what you’d call the female version of a jack of all trades.
That mindset is exactly what led me here.
After years of putting my energy into growing other people’s dreams, I made the decision to finally back myself. Creating MADD Beauty from home wasn’t just about business — it was about freedom, flexibility, and being present for my kids, especially my youngest navigating daycare bugs and starting school life.
A big part of my “why” also comes from my own experiences. There was a time where I couldn’t always afford these types of services myself, and I know what it feels like to put yourself last. That’s why creating flexible payment options — like our old school layby — was so important to me. I wanted to build a space where self-care isn’t a luxury reserved for some, but something accessible for everyone, no matter their budget.
I’ve also had my own not-so-great experiences with cosmetic tattooing, especially with my eyebrows. Instead of letting that put me off, it pushed me to do better — to train, upskill, and ensure that my clients never have to walk away feeling the way I once did. That standard sits at the core of everything I do.
With the support of my whānau, we brought this vision to life — building our studio from the ground up and turning a simple cabin into a space filled with purpose, passion, and mana.
Beauty, to me, has always been deeper than appearance.
It’s about confidence. Healing. Expression.
Whether it’s lashes, brows, or ink — every service I offer is about helping people feel seen, empowered, and proud of who they are.
MADD Beauty isn’t just a studio — it’s a reflection of my journey, my strength, and my commitment to creating a life on my own terms… while helping others do the same.
